‘Life after life”
In this project I aim to explore the depths of reality after retirement by creating a series of images documenting ‘a week in the life of Mr and Mrs Staniforth’. I aim to capture these images in a very natural and pavlovian manner causing the audience to relate and be instinctively involved. Purposely producing imagery with the absence of facial features allows the audience to direct their thoughts to the perhaps mundane elements of the image. The purpose to create an individual experience leading to perhaps a reminiscent melancholy, or in contrast a retirement where life portrays abundancy.
“The trouble with retirement is that you never get a day off.” – Abe Lemons.
