Boris Says
Due to the recent COVID 19 outbreak that has swept world and caused a mass stand still for over 4 weeks I have created an ongoing project based on the governments one daily walk scheme that has been put in place by Boris Johnson, the UK’s Prime Minster.
The scheme consists of going on a daily walk for no longer than one hour, this causing huge disruption in peoples lives and making ‘Lockdown’ even more difficult. This has had a huge effect on myself and many others around the globe as isolation can be very difficult as it can have impacts both physically and mentally, this being a huge challenge but the only way we can do our part in fighting this pandemic. In this project I aim to take one image per walk the reason being is that the public are only allowed out once a day, this being a huge restriction and so by taking one image a day causes me to still think in a creative way, causing me as a practitioner to really step back from the lens, slowing me down and providing me with time to think about the shot I am taking.
My work often revloves around documenting situations, focusing upon the mundane and banal aspects of life, making the overlooked appear like an art from, within my imagery. Each of my images vary as they portray my personal and mental state that I have experienced when on my daily walk, during this difficult and bizarre time the world is experiencing.
